According to some media reports Paul Bernardo may be getting married.

Seriously? I know I shouldn't be surprised, you hear about these whack jobs that are attracted to murders and their ilk. But I am surprised.

It makes you wonder what the mental problems are this 30 year old University graduate has. She couldn't find someone she is attracted to outside of the a convicted murderer and rapist?

Oh wait, she believes he is innocent. Like I said, whack job. It takes all kinds of crazy to make the world go around and this bitch is definitely on the crazy train.

Breaking News ....

The news this morning is dominated by one story. Every time they talk about it you get to see the Breaking News graphics. What is the story you ask?

The Pope resigns as of February 28th. Why? Not because he protected pedophiles at the expense of kids. Because his health is failing. As one of my Professors would say "Whoopie shit".

It is the 1st time a Pope has resigned and not died. Once again, whoopie shit.

What the ... halloweenies?!?!?!?

I am watching the news and they are talking about popular costumes this Halloween. The talking head introduces the next reporter by saying she is wearing her orange and black costume. Costume? She is wearing regular fucking clothes that just happen to be orange and black.

I had heard someone talk about people celebrating orange and black day and thought that was pretty stupid. Then "news people" start calling regular black and orange clothes a costume. Pretty fucktardic if you ask me.

A Message for the CBC

CBC, we need to talk. Your reporting can be maddening at times. I can understand when news organizations from other countries screw up talking about Canada but you have no excuse.

Case in point, your story today about how gas prices jumped up overnight all across Canada. If Canada consisted of Ontario and Quebec you would be right. Luckily, or rather unfortunately for you, there is a lot more to Canada. Gas prices went up in Nova Scotia LAST FRIDAY. They went up in New Brunswick LAST THURSDAY. Not last night.

It does seem at times like you think the Eastern part of Canada ends at Quebec. Especially when your weather reports talk about the weather in the East and then proceed to yammer on about Ontario. Last I heard Ontario is in the central part of Canada. Probably part of the reason why you think the country revolves around Ontario.

Oh and saying you were talking about the Eastern half of Canada doesn't cut the mustard when you only talk about Ontario and Quebec.

CBC I do prefer your reporting over other stations but when you ignore the actual Eastern part of Canada it makes your reporting seem shoddy. It makes you seem somewhat like The Korea Times. What is next? Reports on E.T. graveyards in Nunavut? Of course not. It would have to be in Ontario if you were reporting on it.

Gadhafi dead?

CBC is reporting that Moammar Gadhafi has been killed. I know it isn't nice or PC to say but I hope it is true. His death is decades overdue but at least it finally happened.

Cross Burning in Nova Scotia

In February some twats thought it would be funny to burn a cross in the yard of a mixed-race couple. Two brothers did this to their cousin who is living with her black fiance and their kids.

Her fiance said to the media

"I just seen a big cross out there, and it was on fire and it had the rope around the neck, and it was hanging down, and it was on fire. It was about seven feet tall,"

"By the time I got outside, there was nobody around. All we heard was, 'Die, nigger, die.' I was scared for my kids and my life. I don't know what is going to happen next. If it's a joke, then I don't know what it is. I don't know how to take it."

The two brothers who did it have been convicted of criminal harassment and inciting racial hatred, and are currently awaiting sentencing.The one who built the cross and lit it may be facing prison time. They, and people defending them, maintain that it wasn't racist. It was just a mistake of youth.

An uncle of the MEN, one is 20 and the other 21, said

“I’m not saying it should have been done because it shouldn’t have been, but everyone makes mistakes when they’re young, I’ve done foolish things that I’m not crazy about, but that’s life.”

You know there always seems to be some fucking morons who can renew my faith in the stupidity of man. Burning a cross isn't racist? Shouting "die nigger die" isn't racist? If that doesn't qualify as racist then what the hell would?

Burning a cross on a black persons lawn has been a symbol of racism, and more particularly the KKK, for well over a hundred years.

What the ... wedding announcement?!?!?

What is the top news story in Canada? Prince William is engaged to get married. Evidently this is a much more important story than Canada continuing it's role in Afghanistan. Or the explosion in Mexico that left Canadians dead and wounded. Or the economy. Or jobs. Or anything else that is more relevant than an engagement.

CBC NewsWorld devoted 10 minutes at the top of the hour to prattle on and on about the engagement. What did you get to hear?

The announcement of the engagement which actually happened last month.

The British PM blather about how the engagement is so important he was interrupted in a Cabinet Meeting to be told about it.

How the Cabinet stopped the business of running the country to cheer.

A CBC talking air head (female) say "As William got older I started liking the younger Prince more." What a creepy cougar. Imagine if a male announcer said that about a young woman?

CBC NewsWorld devoted almost 10 minutes of the opening news hour to THIS story???? Give me a fucking break. I can understand the news reporting this but as the top story with so much time devoted to it? That is retarded.

This is one of the reasons why I try to avoid the watching the news. It is shite. They will blather on about crap like this as a top story while much more important things are going on.

Reporting

It is nice to be back in a country where a piece of shit rag like the Korea Times is not the norm. Well, outside of Fox News that is. However, there are other problems related to the media.

THE NEWS now, at least in Canada, is all about Colonel Russell Williams. The piece of shit makes me wish Canada had the death penalty because he is the poster boy for using it.

The reporting of the case has been, in my view, excessive. Yes, it is an important story. It needs to be told. The amount of detail however is not necessary. Seriously, the news HAS to show the pictures of Williams dressing in the lingerie of his victims? really? They have to drone on and on and on about everything? You would think there is no other news story in Canada except this.

It reminds me of the stupidity that went on during the Homolka trial. The media actually wanted to get a hold of the tapes that were made of the girls being raped and murdered. What the hell?!?? Why?!?!? They actually went to court to try and force the release of the tapes! That is fucking twisted.

The last thing the family of the victims needs is to have things like that handed over to the media and circulated. Why in the hell would anyone want to watch the rape and murder of the girls? Other than for some twisted sexual fetish?

Reporting the news doesn't mean that every salacious detail has to be exposed. While the lingerie photos aren't as bad as trying to get the tapes it still isn't necessary to reporting the story. Considering that Williams plead guilty to the charges it isn't as if any of the evidence is being disputed or even needs to be presented. Yet the media feels the need to air it all because the sensational nature of it will get ratings. It isn't that they are reporting the story it is how they are doing it or over doing it. Then again, I never had a high opinion of the media and how they operate.

Fox News is the most popular, most watched news network in America? (Please keep in mind when using words like news and media while talking about Fox it is hard not to have a laughing fit. As with the Korea Times it is hard to consider Fox a true media outlet.) If that really is the source of a majority of American's news you have to wonder just how stupid they are.

Fox has a habit of distorting (or just ignoring) reality when it suits their needs. Which seems to be whenever they talk about someone who isn't following their extreme right wing narrative. They also have a habit of faking things when it suits them.

It isn't the news. It is infotainment. They play to their audience rather than report. Just look at Gretchen Carlson. Either she is one fucking mook of a woman or she is deliberately mooking herself down. Last year Gretch and her friends were "discussing" Hugo Chavez calling Obama an ignoramus. She blurted out that she didn't know what an ignoramus was so she googled it. Or as she put it:

"I just wanted to see how much of an insult it was to be called an ignoramus. Since I didn’t know what it meant, I just googled it.”

Now she knows it means ... an ignorant lawyer. What the hell? She lookeded it up on google and still got it wrong?!?!?

Maybe she should have done what most people do and used a dictionary. I find it hard to believe that someone who graduated from Stanford with Honours didn't know what an ignoramus is AND that she could still fuck it up after looking the word up. I guess she wants to forever be typecast as the ditzy blonde infotainer.

Now you have the latest Fox Faux Pas. They are going hot and heavy after the people who want to build a mosque near the site of the World Trade Center in NYC. They are tracking the money! What have they found? Well they claim the main backer of the Iman who wants to build the Mosque/community center.

They have identified the source of the money as the Kingdom Foundation. Yet they never EVER mention the name of the head of this foundation that they claim sponsors terror. The unmentionable guy in charge is Al-Waleed bin Talal. His other claim to fame is to be one of the biggest shareholders (2nd after Murdoch himself) of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp! The folks who own Fox News.

On the Daily Show John Stewart wonders whether the Fox news people are simply too stupid to realize this or if they are deliberately trying to hide the truth. Based on what I have seen of Fox it is easy to believe either but I find the latter the most believable.

How people can take Fox News seriously is beyond me. A friend and former co-worker once said that Fox News wasn't representative of the American people. (She used to work in the media industry in the US.) She said that you shouldn't watch it and think that all Americans believe it. If a majority of Americans seek it out as their source of news one can only surmise that they do drink the kool-aid Fox is serving. Which would mean they are pretty fucking stupid.

TV News

I don't usually watch the news anymore. It is usually a bunch of sensational crap. I turned the news on at lunch time today and was greeted with the perfect example of what is wrong with the news.

The top story was the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico and new problems coming up. The second story ... Lindsay Lohan will be going to jail. What the f ... errr kimchi .... er maple syrup?!?!?

Some dumb self destructive bitch like Lindsay Lohan rates almost as high as the disaster in the Gulf? This is part of what is wrong with society not just the news. We waste so much time on idiots like Lohan and not on what matters.

The news people need to get their priorities together. Mind you so do the viewers. Stop accepting drek and BS.

A new story is dominating the headlines in Canada and it exemplifies what I was complaining about. Conrad Black is out on bail. Oh calloo callay, oh fractious day. Life can now go on because this rich fucking asshole is now free on bail. Everything had halted in the world until this news was delivered. Clinton announced new sanctions against North Korea, astronomers have found a monster star, a jet hit turbulence that left 21 people dead ... but that is not as important as conrad Black being released on bail. Fucking morons.
