 While I expected the new Trump administration to be a shit show I didn't expect it to show it's ass this quick. In a month and a bit he has managed to betray their neighbour and long time ally, Canada. That doesn't even get into what he has said and done to piss off Mexico, Europe, and Panama.

I could rehash what has been said and done but it has been reported and done in depth already. I am looking at the Canadian aspect of it.

I am proud to say Canada is fighting back. The people of Canada have never been as united as they are now. Even Quebecois have said they are proud Canadians. We are prepared to take some pain. We are behind our Government. Hell, I am even impressed with Trudeau. He still has to go but damn Crisis Trudeau reminds me of his father. Elbows Up!

It is time to start untangling ourselves from the US economically and militarily. With a fascist like Donald in power we can't trust the US government. 

Donald has violated the Free Trade agreement that HE made with Canada and Mexico. So let's make it official and say that his violations have just nullified it. His tariffs violate the WTO rules as well. Now he is spouting off about wanting to redo the borders. The US cannot be trusted while Donald is in charge, and Vance wouldn't be any better.

Fuck Donald and Fuck the Americans who voted for him and pay lip service to him. 77 Million plus of  Americans voted for this piece of shit. 49.8% of all those who voted. When I hear people say "I didn't vote for him!" as a means of distancing themselves from the insanity he has created I have 1 question. Did you vote? The 2024  Presidential Election had a lower turn out than the 2020 election. If all those who said they didn't vote for Donald, don't blame me, actually voted, Kamala would have won. So, someone other than Donald is a liar and deserves to be called on it. But I digress.

I have had to be at an airport 3 days in the last week. In all 3 days I ran into a mook. Ok, I ran  into way too many mooks because people tend to forget everything and become a mook at an airport but these 3 stand out.

Three days in a row I ran into this behaviour. As I approached the first door to enter the airport someone (a woman in all 3 times) was standing in front of the door. I would make eye contact with them and wait. They would just stand there. I would open the door and wait. Nothing would happen. I would say "Excuse me." and they would blink and say "Oh, I didn't see you there,"

Seriously? You fucking stupid moron! You are BLOCKING the doorway to enter the airport! Yet you are surprised that someone wants to enter. Ok, I didn't say that. I sucked it in not to tell someone that she is a fucking mook and that will haunt me for a few days. Or minutes. Or fuck you.

As soon as I entered and passed them they went back to blocking the doorway. There is really nothing you can say to get a moron of that magnitude to change their ways.

What the ... cause of road rage?!?!?!?

I have been doing a lot of highway driving in the last year plus. One thing I have noticed is something that could incite people to "road rage" or as I call it to become pissed off to all hell at the fucking assholes in front of you.

Too many times a day I am behind some mook doing 80 KPH or thereabouts in a 100 KPH or even a 110 KPH stretch of road. Mind you, as soon as you hit a place that you could pass these slow pokes they speed up. Often going 10+ KPH over the limit. At least until they get to an area that you can't pass them legally at. Then they slow way the hell back down.

I am not saying that someone would be right to run those cocksuckers off the road and do them bodily harm. However, I have thought of doing that many times in the last year plus.

If you want to drive so slow use the fucking back roads. Don't fuck over people who use the highways and expect to actually do the speed limit. Don't try peoples patience so much because one day you are going to do it to the person who will go over the edge and fuck you up.

What the ... Laurierism?!?!?!?

A friend shared something on Facebook from some mook named Rob East. Actually it was something he shared, of something a friend shared, that a friend shared, that Rob East made available. Oh what a tangled web we weave ... but I am getting ahead of myself.

Mr. East posted a photo of a quote to Wilfred Laurier in 2015. All it took was reading the first sentence, Mr. East's opening and only comment, for me to call bullshit on it. He wrote;

"I AM CANADIAN ... maybe we should remember the words of our founding fathers." 

Canadian? Really? Ok, we do have our share of fuckwits in Canada and a lot of morons. He could be Canadian and a prime example of either of those. Or maybe he is an American.

Founding fathers?!?!?!? Really?!?!? THAT sounds like something an American would say. Not a Canadian. In Canada we have The Fathers of Confederation. NOT founding fathers. On top of that, Laurier was NOT one of them.

He then went on to post the statement attributed to Laurier. A statement which had a huge glaring error in it. Can you pick out the error?

Did you see it? In the last half of the statement? Yeah, this one.

"We have room for only one flag, the Canadian flag."

BAARRRRRRRRRRP! Canadian Flag? In 1907? The Canadian flag was NOT adopted until 1965! Until then we flew the Union Jack aka The United Kingdom Union Flag.

The whole statement sounds more like something an American would say. Thanks to the miracle of the internet and a handy site called Snopes it was easy to find out who this statement belongs to. In it's original form and not what Mr. East bastardized it into (or someone else did and Mr. East didn't bother attributing it to them) it was made by ... Theodore Roosevelt. A search on Snopes using Laurier showed that.

A google search then showed that this piece of BS, the quote not Mr. East, has been around the internet since at least 2012. Maybe longer. Which means Mr. East was just passing on the BS without showing where he found it.

Good try Mr. East but I smelled the bullshit from the start.

What the ... rule change?!?!?

I have been rereading "The Montreal Canadiens: 100 Years of Glory" by D'Arcy Jenish, that my best friend Stig gave me one Christmas. It was put together from newspaper stories and some other 1st hand sources. Fantastic read. But I digress.

In the chapter about the 1955-1964 Seasons I read a bit about the effect of the 2 Minute Penalty being changed. Until 1956 a player had to remain in the penalty box for the FULL 2 minutes. That is what happens now for a 5 minute penalty. It was changed after the 1955-56 Season basically because the Canadiens were unstoppable.

The Canadiens were a force to recon with back then. They dominated the NHL. The players were so talented that their third and fourth lines could be a 1st line on other teams. Keep in mind there were only 6 teams in the NHL then. The Canadiens frequently scored multiple goals on one power play. One of the most famous incidents happened on November 5, 1955, Jean Béliveau scored three goals in 44 seconds, all on the same power play, resulting in a 4–2 victory over the Boston Bruins.

In the book it is put forth as a means of teh other teams to keep the Canadiens down. When other teams, like Detroit, dominated there was no talk of changing the rule but now that the canadiens are dominating it had to be changed. The Board of Governors, the owners of the other teams, outvoted the owner of the Canadiens and thus the rule was changed.

I am not one for conspiracy theories but it really looks like the change was done just to stop the Canadiens from dominating. Until then no one cared. Then it became important. Oh well. I am used to the rule as we know it now. My problem is with icing during a penalty. If a team is being penalized why the fuck are they allowed to ice the puck without play being sent back to their end?!?!?!?!?

Wow. Someone beat me to the punch using the vitriol I would use. A friend showed me a post by a Facebook "friend" of his that lambasted those who purport to love/support France but are just posers.

I lost a "Facebook Friend", someone who had been a real friend for years before I went home, over this fucktardery. She had used Facebook to change her profile picture to have the image of the French flag superimposed over it. This was her way of "showing support" for France after the Paris attacks. A couple of days later when the #tragedyhipsters were bringing up Beirut she made a post castigating people for not showing support for Beirut but gushing about Paris.

What can I say, I couldn't help myself and simply said "Didn't you just use the image of the French flag while not saying anything about Beirut?"

A friend asked we what I thought about the Remembrance Day controversy the Chronicly Horrible, I mean the Chronicle Herald, was going on about. Not having paid attention to the news I had no idea what he was talking about.

It turns out that during the Remembrance Day ceremonies taking place the Halifax Regional Police deployed armed members. My first thought was ... great. They made sure that if anything happened the right people were there to respond. What controversy?

Well, having armed police ready for anything has angered some people. What the fuck?!?!? Seriously?

“If ever there is a day to put the guns and these costumes away and say we are not afraid, this is it,” John Wesley Chisholm posted on Facebook, along with a photo of two officers in tactical gear.

Others commented on Twitter, asking the force why the more imposing gear was necessary during a public event and on a day for honouring veterans and those killed in combat.

I guess I just had a nightmare last year when a gunman murdered Nathan Cirillo and shot up Parliament. If that had happened no reasonable person would wonder why the HRP had officers ready for anything on Remembrance Day. Oh wait it did happen. And they were ready. Lest We Forget.

The main mook behind the complaints seems to be Stoo Metz.

“It doesn’t make me feel safe,” Metz, a Halifax photographer, tells Yahoo Canada News. “It makes me worried we have less and less freedom because the guards now have bigger guns.“

What worries me is that the media panders to assholes like Metz, who is probably just looking to make a name for himself and sell more photos.

What the ... comedian?!?!?

So ... a "comedian", Scott Vrooman, thought it would be funny to pretend to be a Senator-elect and get into Parliament. He was videoing himself on his phone.

“I thought, I’ll wing it. It’s improv comedy,” he said in an interview. “But improv-ing with the police is not the best idea.”

No. Really?  How about improving with Police at a place that was shot up by a gunman just over a year ago? After said gunman murdered a Soldier? Time and place fucktard. Time and place.

It reminded me of a moron we dealt with one night at work. I was talking with our Supervisor and two other guards at the front entrance when this mook approached us and started "improving". He looked at us and said;

"Wouldn't it be funny if I robbed this place?"

I looked at him as if he was a drooling moron and said "No."

He replied "Yeah. It would be funny. I know the owners (He didn't.) so I would give the money back. I wouldn't be charged. It would be funny."

We all looked at him as if he had 3 heads and I said "No. It wouldn't be funny."

He went on "It would be funny. I know them (the owners) so I wouldn't be charged. Hilarious!"

We all gave him dirty looks and he went outside for a smoke. I shook my head, looked at my Supervisor and said "Would it be funny if I yelled fire in a theatre? Hijack or bomb in an airport?"

The general consensus was that this guy was mental or just didn't get that his sense of humour wasn't funny. He didn't appear to be showing any signs of intoxication, He was just a douchebag.

Said douchebag finished his smoke, came back in, and picked up where he left off.

"It would be funny!" he said "I know the owners so the cops couldn't charge me."

We just shook our heads and looked at him as if he were mental.

"You just don't get it!" he said "I know them. I gave the money back. The cops can't touch me. It is hilarious."

"Would you say hijack on a plane?" I asked.

He had no answer.

"It just isn't funny." I said. "There is a time and place."

He threw his arms up and walked off in disgust. Mind you, he didn't go far. He went and sat at a table about 10 feet from us. Then he started staring at us, throwing dirty looks at our Supervisor.

Our supervisor's reaction? Call Surveillance and let them know we were throwing someone out. and we did. Fucking moron.

It also reminds me of the assholes who pull  "social experiments". Have people act like assholes to get a reaction from others and cry "social experiment" when it bites you in the ass.

In the article it said "In an odd bit of timing, he was worried about getting arrested because he was planning to risk arrest later that day at a climate change protest outside 24 Sussex Drive."

So, he didn't want to get arrested for public mischief because he planned on risking arrest in a protest later that day. Wow. What great reasoning. I believe he is a comedian because his reasoning is so hilarious.

The police politely talked to him and warned him about what he was doing. Another officer with a rifle approached and watched while he was talked to. An officer who is so armed because of what happened last year with a gunman.

Vrooman said: “I just felt like that was totally unnecessary and creepy. Because they knew at that point I was no threat, that I was a comedian,” 

Yes. They knew you were no threat and a comedian because ... you told them that. Why the fuck would they think you might not be? Fucktard, He felt is was unnecessary and creepy? How the fuck do you think the RCMP officers felt when some moron tried pretending to be a senator-elect and get into Parliament?

There reaction IS necessary because there are assholes out there who shoot places up and murder people. While Vrooman isn't one of those assholes he does seem to be another variety of asshole.

Vrooman is upset that his humour back fired. Was he shot? No. Arrested? No. Tasered? No. Yelled at? No. Did an RCMP officer hurt his feelings by telling him he could be charged with Public Mischief? Yes. Poor muffin.

The Harperites decided he should share in the news so made up a video of him promoting the program and his party. They shot one of him talking with a bridge in the background. What could the problem be?

The background is the problem. The idiots try to make you think it is Halifax when it is really Johnstown, Ontario. There is a bridge there that looks similar to the Halifax bridges, depending on the view used.

Hell, the guy who likes to wrap himself in the Canadian flag isn't even using a Canadian bridge in the background! It is actually the Ogdensburg–Prescott International Bridge, a U.S.-owned suspension bridge over the St. Lawrence river that connects Ogdensburg, New York to Johnstown, Ontario. Way to go Harper!

Then he became famous, or rather infamous, when it became known that he molested 5 underage girls when he was a teenager. (Which isn't to say it is OK to molest females who are of age.) Two of those girls are his sisters. This was kept from the authorities and he was "treated" within the Fundamentalist community. When it became known he was "cured" of it.

Then it came out that he subscribed to the Ashley Madison website and had affairs. So much for those great Christian values about fidelity.

THEN the magazine In Touch Weekly printed an interview with Josh's mistress, stripper and porn star Danica Dillon. And Joshy likes it rough.

What is he in the news for now? The reason why he has strayed and the steps he is taking to save himself. He is addicted to porn. That is why he is such a hypocrite. It is all the fault of porn. Not the repressive nature of his fundamentalist upbringing. But porn.

As I have droned on about before, people are morons and a lot of them are media whores, They will do anything to get attention. Case in point is an "Internet Sensation" by the name of Tyrone Jones.

Mr. Jones is one of many YouTubers who pull pranks or do "social experiments" and post them online. Mr. Jones type of prank is to go up to a couple and, aggressively, letting them know he is going to have intercourse with the wife/gf. In one of the videos I saw he walks up to a couple about to enter their building and shouts "I am Tyrone and I am gonna fuck your wife!" Wow. That is so funny. NOT!

This is entertainment?!?!?!?

It worries me when people refer to assholes like Tyrone Jones as "street performers". Seriously? Walking up to strangers and getting in their faces telling them you are going to fuck their wife is street performance? What the fuck?!?!?!

The fact he is considered an "internet sensation" is also disturbing.

So, a few days ago, Jonesy was doing his "street performance" to Darnell Williams and his wife in Houston. He was on Williams property. According to eyewitnesses Jones was his usual self, aggressive, profane, "I am going to fuck your wife". Williams told him to leave 3 times. Jones and his crew didn't so Williams pulled out a 9mm and shot Jones in the chest 3 times.

Then Jones "crew" ran up yelling it was just a prank. Just a prank. Yeah, right. 911 was called and hilarity ensued. What a great prank!

Fortunately?, Jones lived. Odds are he will learn nothing from this and continue his "street performance". Jones will be charged with Criminal Trespass when he is released.

Williams is under arrest and being charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. IF Jones approached him like he normally does and refused to leave the assault charge should be dropped. Hell, I hope the second charge gets dropped even though it is justified.

What the fuck is up with people? It is just a prank. I am doing a social experiment. No, you are being a fucktard. And this fucktard almost got killed.

What the ... guilt trips?!?!?

I received some mail today. The kind of mail that makes me shake my head and wonder just how fucking stupid some charities are. Or rather just how much they really need money.

This time it was unsolicited email from Habit For Humanity. How they got my name and address I don't know. nor do I really care. It contained Christmas cards and seals that they expect me to send them money for. It gets circular filed. What a fucking waste of money, on their part.

What pisses me off the most is that they are trying to play on the sympathy of people. They expect that people will feel driven by guilt to send them money. Not by a desire to help but guilt.

I still remember the asshole who once called me representing the Children's Help Line. At the time I was between jobs and didn't have any money to spare or I probably would have donated to them. At the time I thought it was a worthy cause. Then comes the call. I explain my situation and the guy has the nerve to tell me that surely I could borrow $20 from someone. When I asked to talk to his supervisor he hung up.

I contacted the Children's Help Line to complain. They just gave a spiel about outsourcing phone solicitation to a telemarketing company. They weren't interested in sending my complaint on to the telemarketer.

Their excuse doesn't mean shit. They hired someone to represent them. When they call and act like the fucktard I dealt with they are acting in the name of the company. Much like the Poppy volunteer I dealt with in 2010. Thanks to the telemarketer that called me, and the lack of interest in following up on my complaint, I will NEVER donate to the Children's Help Line.

How much money, donated money, do these charities waste on the mail outs? Let alone on the money spent on telemarketers? Which is why I don't donate to those charities.

I have charities that I support regularly. I have given them permission to contact me. I donate to them because I choose to out of a desire to help. Which is why I don't appreciate the unsolicited contact. The attempt to guilt me into donating money. The waste of money.

A "cautious" Calgary doctor also know as a daredevil that lived for adrenaline rushes died base jumping in Arizona. Why the fuck should I care? Why the fuck is it NATIONAL news?!?!?

Not to denigrate or diminish how his family and friends feel but why the hell would this be considered national news? CTV, CBC, The National Post, even METRO for the Halifax area is carrying this story.

To add to the inanity of the story you have this report:

When the "controversy" started I was all set to jump on the band wagon and start pillorying Phil of Duck Dynasty. I have always been a supporter of the gay community. (I hesitate to use the 'one of my friends is gay' line because so many of them are and it sounds trite.) It is none of my business how another person lives their life. Much like my view on religion, if it doesn't make them an evil person it is ok with me.

So, what exactly did Phil say that was so bad A&E suspended him?  From what I read in the GQ article it was his answer to the following the question "What, in your mind, is sinful?".

Heh. This actually made me laugh when I first heard it. I laughed again when I read it. It pretty much sums it up for me.

So, from the GQ article this is the only stuff I could find that anyone may consider offensive. I stand to be corrected but this is it.

If this is what has A&E's panties in a bunch, as well as others who are calling for Phil's head, they are fucking idiots. It is the guys opinion. It isn't like he is a Westboro Baptist saying "God hates fags" and the rest of the shit those hate mongers spew. They REALLY expected something more from a right wing bible thumper? That is what Phil is.

It was kind of disappointing to see that it was just this that has people riled up. I was hoping for something I could build up some righteous indignation about. Instead, it is just much ado about nothing.

It is kind of funny when you think of it.

I like crappy weather and cold weather because it means I can take Grizzly to the park and not usually run into people with their dogs off leash. If you want to avoid people it seems like the perfect time to go.

Some people who like letting their dogs run loose, where they shouldn't, like to take them on crappy days because the chance of running into other people is slim.

Same reasoning for different reasons.

What the ... clarification?!?!?

The Provincial Government changed a speeding law last year. As soon as I heard about it I knew there would be problems with it. It wasn't clear enough. Yes, I know, what a surprise, the Government wasn't clear in making a law. ;)

They changed the speed limit in school zones. It is now 30 KPH when children are present. How is that not clear? It made me wonder does it only apply when kids are PHYSICALLY present in the school yard or does it mean when school is in?

For me it didn't cause a problem, I would just do 30 KPH whenever I was in a school zone to be safe. However, I could see some people being confused about it and having a fit when they got ticketed.

Now it turns out the Police are confused by it and have had to ask the Government to clarify what it means.

Gotta love how Government can fuck up something that should have been so simple.
