A question.

I have a question, no sarcasm and all joking aside. If a person is under the age of majority and it is ok for them to protest are they then exempt from ridicule for things they say because of they are minors? (Oh and the phrase that the person complaining she is in memes uses isn't "minor". She whines that she is "underage" and they will all get in trouble for making memes of her.)

Ok, that probably didn't make a lot of sense. Her is the scenario. There was a protest about climate change, to try and force the government to act, where I live today, a bridge was shut down at rush hour to all traffic ... vehicle, pedestrian, bicycle. (The police actually shut the bridge to everyone before the protesters could but that is ancillary to my question.)

There is a video circulating Facebook showing a cyclist trying to bike to work being confronted by protesters. Two protesters stand out because one is so fucking whiney and stupid and the other one was just as moronic. I use stupid and moronic because what they were saying to a cyclist was that dumb. They told her things like you should have saved money to take the bus ... you should have driven to work or taken the bus. The second protester actually told her she was old so the future didn't matter to her (I paraphrase that). You are protesting against climate change and want people to do things that will not affect the environment ... yet you berate a cyclist with that nonsense. Yeah, in my book stupid and moronic apply.

Of course the Internet being the Internet memes have started circulating mocking the protesters, especially the 1st one who started whining, yelling, and berating the cyclist. Now she is responding online, saying she is underage and is reporting everyone who circulates a meme about her to the police. Hence my question.

If you are old enough to go protest and put your stupidity out there for the world to see shouldn you be considered old enough to be berated for being a moron? (For some reason I feel that I need to qualify this ... wanting to improve/save the climate is not stupid in my book ... what these asshats said is.)

The shit wit I work with who is all hot and bothered because I say Saudi Arabia can fuck off and criticize their human rights record has no problem with the tweet that was made by a Pro-Saudi youth group.

He claims it wasn't meant as a threat. It was just a message saying mind your business. Well, you know if 911 hadn't happened, and most of the terrorists that committed the act weren't Saudi citizens he might have a point. However, we live in a different world.

Saudi Arabia has decided to start a fight with Canada over a tweet they don't like.

Saudi Arabia lost their shit over this and started acting out.

A friend of mine made a post asking why we buy oil from Saudi Arabia. I replied to it, something I don't usually do on FB. To paraphrase, I said fuck Saudi Arabia. From what I have read we only get 25% of our oil from them maybe it is time to get that oil from someone else or from within our own country. To hear a pompous ass (the Saudi official who started this) drone on about how great they are to women because they gave them the right to drive a car last year, while women can still be stoned to death for walking around with a non-related male pisses me off. Fuck them.

A misogynistic shit wit I work with was offended by my post. He basically dismissed it by suggesting I smoke weed and don't know the reality of what is going on in Saudi Arabia. He actually claimed there is no proof women get stoned there or that anyone gets crucified. (To be fair, in any instance of crucifixion I have seen they killed the person before crucifying them,  it is a means of leaving them on display.)

It irks me when people try and ignore reality. There are a lot of reports from reliable media outlets about what goes on in Saudi Arabia. The shit wit I work with has his own bias which causes him to blind himself to reality. He rambled on in another post claiming he hates what the Saudis and Trump are doing in the Middle East but can't agree with false claims of stoning and crucifixion without proof. Well, there is proof if you don't have your head rammed up your ass.

This brings me back to my original line of thought .... fuck Saudi Arabia. They are in the process of making sure they spend no money in Canada while they still want our money. Fuck them. We should be finding other places to spend our money. We need to actually start using the oil found in Canada in Canada.

The whole episode also brings up a great question. Why is Saudi Arabia on the UN Human Rights Council let alone heading the council?

Facebook Follies ... Whack Jobs.

There is a twat on Facebook that goes by the name of Kevin Hay. He is a conspiracy theorist that loves promoting fake shit. Normally I don't waste my time considering morons like him but when he tried to present something as fact that could EASILY be proven wrong ... without even citing anything to back up his statement, it irked me.

A little background info on Kevin, from his Facebook page.He says he is a Manager at one company and runs his own cosmetics business too. Other than a lot of posts pushing one conspiracy theory or another, and whining about people that complain about him, not much of substance to his page. Yet he wrote a post about Fidel Castro being Justin Trudeau's real father as if he had access to the information, mainly a suicide note. He cites no sources and takes all credit.

According to Snopes this myth has been around since someone started it 2016.

"On 27 November 2016, two days after Castro’s death was announced, a user on the Donald Trump subreddit /r/The_Donald presented a theory that Justin Trudeau, the son of former prime minister Pierre Trudeau, was actually the love child of Fidel Castro and Margaret Trudeau. "

Snopes then proceeded to prove how wrong this was.

It is bad enough when people perpetuate this shit but to try and make it look like you have some access to the suicide note. What else can you expect from an internet whackjob?

What the ... Laurierism?!?!?!?

A friend shared something on Facebook from some mook named Rob East. Actually it was something he shared, of something a friend shared, that a friend shared, that Rob East made available. Oh what a tangled web we weave ... but I am getting ahead of myself.

Mr. East posted a photo of a quote to Wilfred Laurier in 2015. All it took was reading the first sentence, Mr. East's opening and only comment, for me to call bullshit on it. He wrote;

"I AM CANADIAN ... maybe we should remember the words of our founding fathers." 

Canadian? Really? Ok, we do have our share of fuckwits in Canada and a lot of morons. He could be Canadian and a prime example of either of those. Or maybe he is an American.

Founding fathers?!?!?!? Really?!?!? THAT sounds like something an American would say. Not a Canadian. In Canada we have The Fathers of Confederation. NOT founding fathers. On top of that, Laurier was NOT one of them.

He then went on to post the statement attributed to Laurier. A statement which had a huge glaring error in it. Can you pick out the error?

Did you see it? In the last half of the statement? Yeah, this one.

"We have room for only one flag, the Canadian flag."

BAARRRRRRRRRRP! Canadian Flag? In 1907? The Canadian flag was NOT adopted until 1965! Until then we flew the Union Jack aka The United Kingdom Union Flag.

The whole statement sounds more like something an American would say. Thanks to the miracle of the internet and a handy site called Snopes it was easy to find out who this statement belongs to. In it's original form and not what Mr. East bastardized it into (or someone else did and Mr. East didn't bother attributing it to them) it was made by ... Theodore Roosevelt. A search on Snopes using Laurier showed that.

A google search then showed that this piece of BS, the quote not Mr. East, has been around the internet since at least 2012. Maybe longer. Which means Mr. East was just passing on the BS without showing where he found it.

Good try Mr. East but I smelled the bullshit from the start.

Or The last commenter who really doesn't know anything about Laurier. She was right he is a Canadian through and through but if she believes this piece of tripe was really him she has NO idea what a Canadian is, let alone who Laurier was.

What the .... love for France?!?!?!/

Damn this is late. But ................

Wow. Someone beat me to the punch using the vitriol I would use. A friend showed me a post by a Facebook "friend" of his that lambasted those who purport to love/support France but are just posers.

He wrote:

I lost a "Facebook Friend", someone who had been a real friend for years before I went home, over this fucktardery. She had used Facebook to change her profile picture to have the image of the French flag superimposed over it. This was her way of "showing support" for France after the Paris attacks. A couple of days later when the #tragedyhipsters were bringing up Beirut she made a post castigating people for not showing support for Beirut but gushing about Paris.

What can I say, I couldn't help myself and simply said "Didn't you just use the image of the French flag while not saying anything about Beirut?"

For some strange reason we are no longer Friends. She never blocked me so I may just have called her on her hypocrisy again but now I seem to be blocked. Yet, life, real life, goes on. Despite these first world bullshit problems and hypocrites.

To the first part I say ... you are a fucking Canadian (the friend who re-Facebooked this) not an American. We DO have gun laws. The point of gun laws is to KEEP THEM OUT OF THE HANDS of the "few lunatics". Not just the criminals, which the quote totally ignores, but the lunatics. The lunatics in the US who GET GUNS because the laws, such as they are, don't stop them. Would you rather have a "7 Day Wait of Shame" or a lunatic getting a gun? As to point 2 ... oh please fuck off and stop trying to pit the sort of haves against the have nots. Once again ... YOU, the re-Facebooker, are a Canadian. We don't have Social Security. We have "Employment Insurance" (because the Cons think Unemployment Insurance is too negative) and Welfare. One is meant to help the disadvantaged the other to help seasonal workers. BOTH have been targeted by the Conservative government. Are you against both or just one? Because both are abused by SOME of the users. I saw this idiots post on Facebook a few days ago. One of my "friends" had liked it and shared it. Just another attention whore on facebook looking for his 15 minutes. Well, here is some negative attention for you.

Your Mommy told you that eh? Your Mommy is a fucktard. Which explains why you are one as well. They don't get $5 Million for going to training camp. MOST don't even make that a year.

I actually understand what you are trying to say IF you are genuine. If you aren't, and you are just another attention whore I understand that too.

If you are so against the injustice of athletes making obscene amounts of money stop supporting them. Stop watching sports broadcasts. Stop buying merchandise. Stop reading their books. Stop buying things from their sponsors. And never ever go see them in person.

Then start a lobby group for soldiers to try and get the government to pay them more money. Unfortunately you cannot take any contributions that have anything to do with professional sports in any way. That means no money from the organizations. No face time from the athletes. No accepting anything that will allow your cause to be used by anyone supporting sports.

When you are REALLY doing all that you will be a person standing by their principles and not just another internet fucktard looking for attention. Then I will actually respect what you are doing.
