What the ... nice man?!?!?

A friend shared a photo on Facebook today that made me laugh.

Then I saw the last comment someone had made and laughed even harder.

Yes, some tard just felt they had to post and criticize the picture. If I can refrain from commenting in the thread about the fucktardery of the last comment they should have been able to hold back.

The comment made me want to ask if this person knew the Pope personally or if they were just basing their view on the fact he is the Pope. I am pretty sure it is the latter. Just as I am sure there are a lot of people who believe the Benedict is NOT a nice man ... like 200 or more blind kids who were abused by a priest that the then cardinal Ratzinger helped protect. Protects child abusers. Yeah, such a nice man.

Breaking News ....

The news this morning is dominated by one story. Every time they talk about it you get to see the Breaking News graphics. What is the story you ask?

The Pope resigns as of February 28th. Why? Not because he protected pedophiles at the expense of kids. Because his health is failing. As one of my Professors would say "Whoopie shit".

It is the 1st time a Pope has resigned and not died. Once again, whoopie shit.

What the ... religious intolerance 2?!?!?!?

As more comes out about the shenanigans of William Swinimer the idea of him being the victim of religious intolerance becomes more laughable.

I remember listening to a talk radio show the week the story first broke. Callers went on and on about how horrible it was that Christianity was under attack. All the while the underlying story of what led up to it was not being told. It wouldn't start coming out until the day of tolerance discussions at the school. When the media actually started doing their job and looking into the substance and not just reporting the flash.

William Swinimer is an intolerant religious bully. He is supported in this by his father and his pastor. The t-shirt was just the latest in problems with him. He would proselytize in the hallway of the school. Anyone who didn't agree with HIS view of Christianity was a target. Yet some people whine about HIS freedom of religion or expression?!?!? They claim HE is the target of intolerance just because he is Christian?!?!?!?

I think the Principal made a HUGE mistake doing something because of the t-shirt. Why she picked that as the issue worth suspending Willy over I don't know. It doesn't matter that she said it was because he ignored what the Principal said. All it looks like is because he wore that shirt. She should have taken a stand before that over his behaviour. In fact, I would go as far to say that the next time Willy acts out, and he will Westboroesque Christians like him always do, the Principal should take a page out of his father James' book.

James Swinimer decided that his son and daughter would not attend school the day they held the discussions on tolerance. His reasoning was this;

“He will not attend this school unless they are having readin’, writin’ and ’rithmetic, good old-fashioned academics. When they’re having forums, when they’re having other extracurricular activities, he will not attend that school.


“The taxpayer is paying for him to learn his academics as well as the other students, and I am not standing for any of this stuff.”

Well said Mr. Swinimer! The next time your son starts proselytizing the Principal should quote you and suspend him. After all his stuff doesn't fall into the category of readin', writin', and 'rithmetic or any other kind of academic subject that belongs in a school.

What the ... religious intolerance?

I read an article in The Chronicle Herald on the weekend called "T-shirt tempest distracting". It irked me a bit. Enough that I decided to write about it.

Why did it irk me? The author, Monica Graham, came off as disingenuous. She ignored reality and tried to make it all about Christians being persecuted.


"Swinimer, a student at Forest Heights Community School in Chester Grant, was punished for repeatedly wearing the shirt to school after he was told to stop. It was a courageous act of defiance on the part of an apparently shy young man who felt his faith was under attack."

Swinimer is shy? What a crock of shit. He has been a source of aggravation for other students at his school for proselytizing. He would preach at them and tell them they would burn in hell if they didn't believe what he believes.

Monica is being VERY disingenuous here. Either that or she is a moron. Her article was written weeks after the incident started. Weeks after more information about the "censorship" came out. 


As one student told reporters;

“It’s ridiculous. It should be a normal school day, but no one can be able to focus today,” he said. 


This thing never was about a shirt. He’s telling kids they’ll burn in hell if they don’t confess themselves to Jesus. He’s said that.”

So, who was under attack? Swinimer or anyone who didn't agree with him? It sounds like Swinimer was the one doing the attacking.


Graham wrote;

"It’s unclear if anyone was truly offended, or if there was simply a concern that someone might be offended. Who knows?"

Really? Unclear? Yet it was reported that at least one student HAD complained about the t-shirt. No to mention the complaints about Swinimer's proselytizing. Seems clear to me that someone felt offended. Whether you or I think it was offensive, it did bother someone. And it came out, before Graham wrote her piece, that Swinimer has harassed other students with HIS intolerance. It looks pretty clear to me.

At the time Graham wrote this there was something else she ignored. The school was having a tolerance discussion. A day was devoted to it. There were speakers and students were encouraged to participate. The father, John Swinimer, REFUSED to allow his children to attend any discussion about TOLERANCE.

It seems to me that Graham missed the boat on this one. The father, the way his son proselytizes, and how they are actively intolerant of others is more of the issue than censorship by the school.


It is kind of funny that Graham started off the article with the statement ...

"Much ink has been spent (dare I say, wasted?) on the case of William Swinimer and his bright yellow T-shirt."

... and she just went on to waste more.

Jesusween?

I was watching The Colbert Report and he talked about Jesusween. It sounded so screwed up that I knew it had to be real ... and it is. Stephen Colbert referred to it as part of the War on Halloween.

Some Christers decided to try and create a "Godly alternative" to Halloween. Proponents of Jesusween are supposed to hand out Bibles and "Christian" gifts. They actually believe that it will become the most successful Christian outreach day. Odds are it will just end up creating the most successful egg sales day of the year. Some asshole put a crucifix in your treat bag? Egg the motherfucker!

Bloody whackjobs have to try and ruin everything. Isn't it bad enough that a lot of "Christian" holidays ripped off those of other religions in a move to assimilate them and gain more converts? Now they have to ruin candy day for kids? You would think followers of the ultimate zombie would embrace Halloween and not try and destroy it.

What the ... Buddha?!?!?!

I noticed something kind of strange a minute ago. For a person who claims no religion as his own and who was raised United Church ... I have a lot of Buddha's in my living room.

There are five different little Buddha statues on my window sill. Three were gifts and two I bought. There are no Christian, Muslim, Hindu, or any other religious objects in my apartment. Nor am I a follower of Buddhism. It just struck me as strange.

I was always kind of partial to Buddha's image. It reminds me of me, big belly and all. In fact, my first year I was nicknamed CIA's Buddha. The police we taught, and who worked near my apartment, called me that.

One day a friend was driving and pulled a u-turn where he shouldn't have. A cop waved him over. They nattered in Korean when the cop looked at me and said "Oh CIA Buddha!". He let my friend off with a warning.

It is funny the things we think of and what triggers them.

What the ... Catholic Craziness?!?!?

I have never been much for organized religion and after hearing the shit that spewed out of the Catholic church last week it makes me wonder how anyone can support the church.

Basically, the U.S. study done for the Catholic church said that the molestation is the result of the 60's

Terry said that the 1960s and '70s were a period that saw "patterns of increased deviance of society", and the church sex abuse scandal developed parallel to that decline in social mores.

and that it isn't pedophilia if the "child" is over 10 years of age.

"Most of the priests who had allegations of abuse are not pedophiles," the lead investigator for the study, Karen Terry of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, told reporters.

"Most of the priests who had allegations of abuse, abused pubescent or post-pubescent minors," said Terry, while the victims of pedophiles are defined in the study as being 10 years old or younger.

Seriously? Just because you assholes define the age doesn't mean that is reality.

Calling these people fucktards just doesn't do justice to their stupidity and the lengths the Catholic church will go to try and gloss shit over. They could teach the Japanese lessons on excusing bad behaviour, hiding it, or rewriting history.

I have always said that Muslims need to speak out against the extremists who commit acts of terror in the name of Islam. The same standard should be applied to everyone. Catholics need to speak out against this horse shit or else they are condoning it. Time to tell your pope and his cronies that they need to smarten the fuck up and stop being such assholes.

What the ... rapture?

So I heard people going on about "rapture". I start thinking that Blondie must be doing a huge world wide tour if everyone is talking about that song. Then I watch the news and see that they are talking about some moron named Harold Camping has set the date for "the rapture" to happen and the chosen to be sucked up to heaven. It is supposed to happen tomorrow (Sunday) at 6.

Funnily enough the twat, Camping, called for the rapture to hit in 1994 (I believe it was 94). When it didn't happen he blamed faulty calculations and set the date for tomorrow. And his followers fell for it. Again.

These idiots crowed in the media that they have sold their assets off and quit their jobs to prepare. The weatherman is calling for heavy ridicule for them Sunday with a miniscule chance of enlightenment shining through for a few who are capable of realizing just how idiotic they were.

The Pope is a moron!

A friend pointed out an article reporting on the Pope's Christmas address to Cardinal's and other church workers in Rome. The Pope basically said that pedophilia and child porn is normal.

“We cannot remain silent about the context of these times in which these events have come to light,” he said, citing the growth of child pornography “that seems in some way to be considered more and more normal by society”

Seriously? What a fucking whack job. If it is so normal why did he help HIDE it, and abusive priests, when he was a Cardinal?

Next he will be saying it is the victim's fault they were molested.

What the ... unprofessional priest?!?!?

I am not a religious person. While I have my beliefs I don't push them on others. hell, I don't really talk about them.

My mother is very religious. Her and my dad were there from the start of her current church, when they held services in an Elementary school gymnasium while saving money to build a church. She was active in the choir, outreach programs, women's group, presbytry, most committees.

Now she has cut back a lot of what she does and the main reason is the minister. He is a bit of a twat. Ok, I lie, he is a huge twat. Since he took over from the former minister well over half the congregation has left. He isn't that good a minister and certainly doesn't inspire his flock.

To me the robes of the minister are his uniform. Well, from what I have heard, he doesn't usually wear his robes. He often just wears casual clothes.

IF I had been a parishioner what he did this past Sunday, Halloween Day, would have seen me standing up and telling him off before I walked out of the church. His father was a minister as well. He wore his fathers robes for the service and told his congregation, during his sermon, that this was his Halloween costume. Seriously! He wasn't joking

To me he disgraced his uniform and his father by saying that. It is no wonder the the church has lost 3/4 of the congregation if that is what he is like. Hell, things are so bad they may have to change him to a part-time minister because they aren't bringing in enough money to run the church.

On the one hand it reinforces my feelings towards most organized religions. On the other hand, it bothers my mother and for that I would like to go upside his head with a 2X4.

Where was the outrage?

I see all the international outrage and condemnation taking place because a small church of whackjobs has threatened to burn the Koran. Where was this same outrage when Islamic whackjobs in the US threatened death to the makers of South park and FOX?

You can't turn the news on right now without seeing some international figure spouting off about how stupid the Christian whackjobs are. How their actions could lead to the death of Americans. Main stream Christians are scrambling to be seen as against the burning of the Koren. Even the US State Department, which concerns itself with things OUTSIDE of the US, has issued statements condemning the whackjobs.

Yet, when Islamic whackjobs made threats in America against Americans where was the outrage? Oh, there was coverage of it. Lot's of coverage. Even international coverage. Most of it just presenting the situation. Some of it giving voice to the person who posted the threat saying it wasn't a threat just evidence about what happens when people mock Mohammed or show his image.

Where was the outrage then? Domestic or international? The threat to burn a book is worse than a threat to people?

Yes, the Christian whackjobs are a bunch of morons and it is good to see others of that faith quickly speak out against them. It would be nice to see the "mainstream" Muslim community speaking out against their extremists and maybe even trying to stop them. Just don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.
